The Green Heron, Butorides virescens, is found widely across the United States and Mexico usually along marshy or wooded streams and ponds, but is secretive and solitary. This one successfully nested and raised three young at the pond in Jenkins Arboretum, Devon, Pennsylvania, in 2009.
